Your Responsibilities
You will contribute to a Swiss National Science Foundation project aimed at enhancing the understanding and functionality of ion transport in multilayer polymer electrolytes (MLPEs). Your expertise will be vital in experimental development within the materials and electrochemistry work packages.
- Designing and synthesizing single-layer and multilayer polymer electrolytes, focusing on varying polymer chemistry, salt content, and inorganic filler loading.
- Conducting electrochemical characterization to evaluate ionic conductivity, electrochemical stability, and interfacial impedance.
- Preparing samples for advanced operando methods (such as neutron imaging and microscopy workflows) in collaboration with project partners.
- Assisting in the integration of polymer electrolytes into porous battery electrodes for long-term cycling and aging studies.
- Analyzing experimental data, drafting scientific publications, and presenting findings at international conferences.
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team across PSI and international institutions.
Your Profile
- Master’s degree in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Physics, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong interest in polymer electrolytes, polymer chemistry, polymer physics, or solid-state battery materials.
- Motivated to work in an experimental laboratory setting and engage in interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Excellent communication skills with a strong command of English.
- Able to work independently, manage complex experimental workflows, and actively contribute to team-based research efforts.
