Opportunities for Innovative Researchers in Material Development
We invite enthusiastic candidates to collaborate in the development of groundbreaking materials for on-chip heat delivery and self-healing technologies. Our laboratory at ETH Zürich focuses on creative intersections of nanofabrication, solid-state reactions, and non-equilibrium thermodynamics, working to engineer materials with exceptional properties through precise atomic and nanometer-scale structure control.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Design: Innovate and assess hierarchical materials intended for localized on-chip heat delivery and autonomous repair capabilities.
- Nanofabrication: Employ advanced cleanroom methodologies to create nanometer- and atomic-scale structures.
- Fundamental Research: Explore the underlying physics of solid-state reactions and their implications.
- Experimental Analysis: Utilize high-resolution microscopy and thermal characterization tools to ensure the validation of material performance and structural integrity.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- A Master's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Robust understanding of materials synthesis, structure-property relationships, and transport phenomena.
- Hands-on experience with nanoscale characterization techniques such as FIB, XRD, or TEM preferred.
- Experience with finite element modeling (FEM) or molecular dynamics (MD) is advantageous.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
