The Novartis Research & Development and Innovative Medicines Legal Teams are seeking university graduates for legal traineeships within their Global and Swiss legal departments in Basel. About the Role

Duration: 6 months
Start date: Starting January 1, 2026 (latest by June 1, 2026)
Key Responsibilities
- Engaging in a variety of legal matters and projects covering pharmaceutical/healthcare laws, contract law, commercial law, licensing and transactions, and anti-trust law.
- Advising on a diverse range of development, regulatory, digital, and commercial matters related to the research and commercialization of pharmaceutical products.
- Conducting legal research and drafting documents regarding various legal issues and disputes across private and public law areas.
- Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing various agreements, including licensing, research collaboration, distribution, confidentiality, and consultancy contracts.
- Providing legal support for various projects, such as contract templates, legal trainings, global guidelines and policies, and research collaborations, while interacting with Novartis global, regional, and country legal and business stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: A Swiss Bachelor of Law (BLaw) degree or Master of Law (MLaw) degree, or an equivalent qualification from a Swiss university.
- Languages: Proficiency in German and English.
- Experience: Ideally, candidates should have gained initial professional or internship experience.
