Key Responsibilities
The roles within this collaborative research initiative focus on enhancing the quality of online public discourse. Contributors will engage in the following:
- Participating in a large-scale project aimed at developing computational methods for the semi-automatic detection of both toxic and constructive content.
- Evaluating the effectiveness of interventions designed to combat toxicity and encourage constructive dialogue.
- Supporting ongoing investigations into the prevalence of hateful and abusive speech on a major social media platform.
- Reviewing and validating automated content classification systems and aiding in their development.
- Assisting with the execution of a large-scale online field experiment.
Desired Profile
Ideal candidates should fulfill the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a BA or MA program at a Swiss University.
- Strong proficiency in the English language is essential.
- Spanish language skills are highly preferred, especially for native speakers from Latin America.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive content professionally.
- A genuine interest in social media, content moderation, or computational social science.
