Overview

Join a dynamic and innovative research initiative within the Sensing and Monitoring Lab, a collaboration between the University of Bern and University Hospital Bern, Department of Diabetes, Endocrinology, Nutritional Medicine and Metabolism (UDEM). This interdisciplinary project will advance the monitoring of pig farrowing using state-of-the-art radar sensors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Snout project by supporting data cleaning, analysis, and visualization of radar data, including time-series data, point clouds, and range-Doppler maps.
  • Engage with veterinary clinics and assist in the development of innovative solutions for animal monitoring.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a Master's program at a Swiss University.
  • Strong background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Python for digital signal processing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in German is advantageous.
  • Willingness to collaborate with veterinarians and farmers, including site visits to pig farms.
