Your Team's Mission

The Innovation team is at the forefront of developing On’s future products with a focus on athlete-informed technology. You will guide the Sports Science and Engineering team, concentrating on research, advanced product evaluation, and concept engineering related to performance footwear. Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for Sports Science and Sports Engineering aligned with innovation goals.
  • Lead and mentor distinct teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Sports Science Leadership:
  • Direct and oversee research in physiology and biomechanics, utilizing academic collaborations and advanced testing.
  • Generate actionable insights that guide product development.
  • Establish strong partnerships with academic institutions and research entities.
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of performance data, translating findings into product requirements.
• Sports Engineering Leadership:
  • Lead the development of novel bottom unit systems for diverse sports applications.
  • Integrate scientific insights into the product development process effectively.
  • Explore emerging technologies and materials to enhance product performance.
  • Improve workflows and democratize Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) accessibility within the organization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with product and marketing teams to integrate scientific and engineering insights into product storytelling.
  • Communicate complex concepts effectively to various audiences.
  • Manage budgets and resources for optimal utilization.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Sports Science, Biomechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
• Over 10 years of leadership experience in sports science and/or engineering, ideally in the sportswear industry.
• Extensive experience in physiological and biomechanical research, with a strong grasp of athlete performance.
• Strong knowledge of CAE, material science, and product development processes.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for sports and a deep understanding of athletic performance.
• Experience with data analysis tools and software.
• Experience managing external research and collaboration projects.
