You will lead a team dedicated to advanced product evaluation and groundbreaking research in performance footwear, collaborating with engineers, scientists, and designers in a fast-paced environment that encourages creativity and direct decision-making.

Your Mission & Responsibilities

Take the helm as a visionary leader, guiding interdisciplinary teams within the Innovation department, with a focus on both Sports Science and Sports Engineering. This pivotal role involves executing a strategic vision that integrates scientific insights with engineering excellence to redefine the future of performance footwear.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Sports Science and Sports Engineering aligned with overall innovation goals.
  • Lead and mentor diverse teams to foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
• Sports Science Leadership:
  • Direct research programs in physiology and biomechanics, leveraging academic partnerships and advanced testing methods.
  • Generate actionable insights that inform product development efforts.
  • Establish strong relationships with leading academic institutions.
  • Oversee the analysis of athlete performance data, translating findings into product insights.
• Sports Engineering Leadership:
  • Lead the development of novel bottom unit systems for various sports applications.
  • Integrate scientific knowledge and CAE into the product development process.
  • Explore emerging technologies and materials that enhance product performance.
  • Improve CAE workflows for broader accessibility within the organization.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the product and marketing teams to integrate insights into product development.
  • Effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Manage budgets and resources for optimal utilization.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Sports Science, Biomechanics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Over 10 years of leadership experience in a sports science or engineering environment, preferably within the sportswear industry.
• Extensive experience in physiological and biomechanical research with a solid understanding of athlete performance.
• Strong grasp of CAE, material science, and product development processes.
• Ability to inspire and lead interdisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong passion for sports and deep understanding of athletic performance.
• Experience with data analysis tools and software.
• Experience in managing external research collaborations.
