Position Overview

An exciting opportunity awaits a highly motivated and passionate proteomics expert to join a dynamic team within a leading organization in Basel, Switzerland. This role involves working alongside a global group of specialists focused on advancing innovative technologies in biomedical research and making significant contributions to the field of proteomics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact proteomics analyses throughout drug discovery programs, engaging in both early research and translational studies with patient samples.
  • Collaborate across interdisciplinary research programs, partnering with internal cross-functional teams and external collaborators.
  • Maintain and innovate a cutting-edge proteomics platform, integrating the latest technological advancements to meet both project needs and application priorities.
  • Drive innovation in biomedical research by promoting advanced technologies and interdisciplinary initiatives, expanding the applications of proteomics.
  • Support and mentor junior scientists while facilitating collaborative efforts among project teams and key stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

  • PhD in biology, biochemistry, or a related field, with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in proteomics within biomedical research or the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry.
  • Deep understanding and practical expertise in proteomics methodologies, evidenced by a robust publication record and contributions to the field.
  • Solid data science capabilities alongside a foundational grasp of biostatistical principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams within a matrixed environment.
  • A collaborative, adaptive approach with a readiness to excel in a fast-paced research atmosphere.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills tailored for multidisciplinary audiences at various levels of expertise.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in pathway analysis and multi-omics data integration, as well as proficiency in advanced data science techniques, including Python and/or R.
  • Specialization in spatial and low input proteomics.
