Position Overview
The Public Policy Group / Immigration Policy Lab at ETH Zurich is seeking a dedicated individual to contribute to a pivotal research initiative aimed at combating harmful online content while fostering a robust public discourse.
Project Background
This role plays a crucial part in our mission to utilize advanced machine learning techniques and natural language processing to identify hate speech across various online platforms, including newspapers and social media. The development of a current, high-quality training data corpus is essential to our research efforts.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will involve annotating comments gathered from online forums of Swiss newspapers, determining their content with respect to hate speech. You will receive a new batch of comments weekly, which can be annotated flexibly throughout the week using a user-friendly interface, also accessible via mobile devices. Remote work is an option.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is currently enrolled at a Swiss university, demonstrating independence, reliability, and an organized, meticulous approach to work. Proficiency in both (Swiss-) German and English is essential, with native-level German speaking skills preferred.

In this role, you will be integrated into a supportive research team dedicated to addressing significant societal challenges through innovative research methodologies.
Offer Details
