Project Background
Our research focuses on advancing sustainable livestock production through innovative nutritional strategies. By integrating hypothesis-driven experiments with data-driven approaches, we aim to enhance nutrient utilization efficiency in ruminants, particularly dairy cattle. Key areas of research include:
- Feed and feeding strategies
- Nutritional physiology
- Precision livestock farming
- Multi-omics approaches towards sustainable dairy farming
We leverage advanced statistical modeling, machine learning, and AI to uncover biological insights and optimize production efficiency, animal health, and environmental impact.
Role Overview
Your primary goal will be to identify critical knowledge gaps and develop machine learning models, statistical analyses, and AI-driven tools to analyze large-scale datasets related to animal health and performance. Responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing statistical and machine learning models for nutrient metabolism and feed efficiency
- Integrating multi-omics data with environmental metrics
- Utilizing emerging methodologies to uncover complex biological functions
- Collaborating with experimental biologists to validate models
- Contributing to grant proposals and high-impact publications
This role offers flexibility to align with your expertise, bridging computational innovation with biological applications in animal nutrition.
Candidate Profile
- A PhD in data science, computer science, applied mathematics, bioinformatics, statistics, animal science, or a related field is preferred.
- Master's degree holders with 3+ years of relevant experience will also be considered.
- Strong expertise in statistical modeling and machine learning frameworks is essential.
- Experience with biological or animal science data is desirable.
- Proficiency in data handling, visualization, and high-performance computing is expected.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset are key.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
