Postdoctoral Position in Neuronal Current Imaging and EEG-fMRI

About the Opportunity

Join a dynamic and innovative team at the Support Center for Advanced Neuroimaging (SCAN) within the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the University Hospital of Bern. This role is integral to a pioneering SNSF-funded project, focusing on the impact of disease activity on secondary brain alterations in epilepsy patients five years after their first seizure.

Responsibilities

• Further develop and optimize Spin-lock functional MRI sequences at both 3T and 7T.
• Conduct phantom testing and human data acquisition.
• Enhance post-processing and quantitative analysis tools.
• Collaborate closely with clinical and technical partners involved in the project.

Qualifications

• PhD in physics, biomedical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with the Siemens IDEA pulse sequence programming environment.
• Familiarity with EEG-fMRI is considered an advantage.
• Strong motivation for applied neuroimaging research and collaborative work.

Additional Information

This position is based at Inselspital, Universitätsspital Bern, with a workload of 80 - 100%. Employment is set to begin in October 2025 or by mutual agreement, lasting for a period of 24 months. Reference number for this position is 18136.
