Your Contribution
In collaboration with the Lemann Center and the Alliance for Data, Evaluation, and Policy Training (ADEPT), the Department of Economics is embarking on the development and launch of groundbreaking graduate-level programs. These programs will combine in-person instruction with online courses, notably the J-PAL/MITx Data, Economics, and Design of Policy (DEDP) MicroMasters program.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development:
- Co-design and facilitate the launch of UZH-based programs tailored for students and policymakers.
- Manage logistical and operational aspects for program launch, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, university approvals, and admissions processes.
- Assist in organizing and teaching courses, ranging from short-term workshops for professionals to long-term classes in the Economics department.
- Support for ADEPT and the Lemann Center:
- Create innovative teaching materials focused on policy design and evaluation.
- Provide direct support to faculty and departments at ADEPT partner universities in developing similar programs.
- Engage in relevant research projects as they arise through the Lemann Center.
- Carry out additional responsibilities to further the objectives of the programs and the Lemann Center.
Approximately 80% of time will be dedicated to these initiatives, with the remaining 20% reserved for independent research pursuits.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Applicants should possess a PhD in Economics or a related discipline, complemented by substantial coursework in economics. A keen interest in development economics, education, or public policy is essential.
We seek a passionate individual who is experienced in educational practice, skilled in developing new teaching materials, and committed to impactful, policy-relevant research. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong coordination abilities and a creative approach to global capacity building.
