The Opportunity

We are in search of a well-qualified and experienced candidate who thrives in collaborative settings and is prepared to operate independently within an engaging teaching environment. This role involves working alongside students, their families, and the School Student Support Teams and Faculty, fostering self-directed learning and promoting strong self-advocacy among students.

The successful candidate will implement strategies for a diverse range of learners and be part of a dedicated team of teachers and therapists that provide individualized support across various settings, including homerooms and specialized classes.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree (or equivalent certification) in Special Education and a valid special education teaching credential.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality education for children with significant challenges.
  • At least three years of experience in mainstream or specialized schools working with students who have additional significant learning needs.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and revising individual educational plans and monitoring student progress.
  • Familiarity with common educational assessments for evaluating student competency levels and developing individualized learning plans.
  • Proven ability to deliver a variety of interventions effectively.
  • Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction to accommodate diverse needs.
  • Capability to foster a classroom climate that promotes a sense of belonging.
  • Confidence in using assistive technologies and 1:1 devices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals to support student inclusion, including experience with collaborative teaching models.
  • German language skills are desirable but not mandatory.
