About the Opportunity
We are looking for a highly skilled educator who is enthusiastic about making a significant impact in our Secondary School. This role focuses on engaging and inspiring learners through a deep passion for teaching and a strong professional background. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive expertise in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) and experience working with multilingual learners in diverse educational settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective EAL strategies tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Maintain high expectations for all students while providing ample support to foster their growth.
- Utilize innovative teaching methodologies, including translanguaging strategies and data-driven assessments.
- Engage in collaborative practices within the teaching community to enhance the learning experience.
- Commit to ongoing professional development to refine and advance teaching practices.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching EAL, preferably within an international school setting.
- A valid teaching license that includes an EAL specialization; advanced studies at the Master's level are preferred.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching with a track record of successful learner outcomes.
- A C2 level of English proficiency, showcasing superior writing and oral communication skills.
- An understanding of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- Experience employing diagnostic language assessments to inform instructional practices.
- Familiarity with inquiry and concept-based curriculum and instruction approaches.
- A collaborative and inclusive disposition, emphasizing teamwork and a learner-centered focus.
