Underwriting Assistant (100%)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a respected global reinsurer based in Switzerland. This role involves supporting the underwriting process by ensuring efficient data management and contributing to risk assessment activities.

Your Responsibilities

• Register all relevant data from underwriting submissions, acceptances, and declinations within our IT systems.
• Prepare renewal information in related systems to facilitate Underwriters' risk assessment efforts while gaining foundational knowledge in this area.
• Review and assess contractual wordings for changes from previous years, developing an understanding of fundamental reinsurance contract features.
• Collaborate with Technical Accounting and Claims Management to deliver reliable and timely services to clients and brokers.
• Maintain comprehensive oversight of administrative matters related to select client relationships.
• Prepare for client and broker meetings effectively.
• Organize and maintain a structured filing system, both physical and electronic.
• Assist in the training of new starters or temporary underwriting assistants as required.
• Participate in back-office projects as needed.

Your Profile

• A background in mathematics or a related quantitative field.
• Experience in a similar role within an international insurance environment is advantageous.
• Familiarity with the re/insurance industry is a significant asset.
• Proficiency in English, with knowledge of another European language preferred.
• Strong command of MS Office applications; additional IT knowledge is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently while managing pressure effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to tasks.
• A friendly and positive personality complemented by excellent communication skills, a strong team spirit, and practical problem-solving abilities.
