Therapeutic Area Strategy Director, Oncology & Hematology

Position Overview

Join a dynamic team in either Basel, Switzerland or various locations in the US, including Cambridge, MA and East Hanover, NJ, as part of a hybrid working model. This pivotal role within our Strategy & Growth department focuses on developing and refining a comprehensive Therapeutic Area strategy for Oncology and Hematology.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Therapeutic Area Strategy Head in creating a holistic strategy that drives sustainable growth.
• Utilize knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and therapeutic areas to identify competitive advantages in Oncology and Hematology.
• Deliver commercial insights to Research & Development project teams, with a strong emphasis on early-phase programs.
• Analyze reports and publications to extract vital information and assist in product forecasting.
• Develop external insights to pinpoint growth opportunities and challenges, contributing to strategic decision-making.

Essential Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree is required; an advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent) in life sciences or healthcare is preferred.
• Strong knowledge or track record in Therapeutic Areas, specifically Oncology and Hematology.
• Ability to manage multiple strategic programs concurrently.
• Extensive experience in evaluating product opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions.
• 5-7 years of pharmaceutical and/or medical device industry experience in research and commercial functions.
• Proficiency in strategy development and early lifecycle asset shaping.
• Recent in-market experience in the US is essential.
