Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced professional to play a pivotal role in supporting technical settlement activities and compliant reporting, ensuring high-quality claims and accounting processes. This position involves seamless coordination with various stakeholders and contributes to ongoing process and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to key work packages for quarterly and annual financial statements according to Swiss GAAP/OR and IFRS, including coordination of complex balance sheet items.
- Independently handle specialized accounting topics and contribute to (partial) project management within the SAP FS-RI and accounting landscape.
- Conduct technical reviews and finalize incoming and outgoing (retrocession) technical accounts, considering complex reinsurance contract structures.
- Facilitate correct and timely processing of payables and receivables, clarifying and escalating discrepancies with internal and external partners.
- Support the monitoring and coordination of international payment flows in collaboration with Treasury and external stakeholders.
- Perform quality-assured reviews, plausibility checks, and accounting of claims reports, analyzing deviations, trends, and reporting patterns.
- Act as a technical point of contact for international business partners and internal stakeholders in both German and English.
- Drive enhancements and further development of internal processes, reporting structures, system functionalities, and automation initiatives.
Qualifications
- Completed business or economics degree, ideally with a focus on accounting/insurance.
- Significant professional experience in technical accounting within the reinsurance sector.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting processes, balance sheet relationships, and technical accounting logic.
- Strong SAP experience, with FS-RI knowledge required as a user and for system support/administration.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and a strong IT affinity.
- Exceptional written and spoken English and German.
- High level of initiative, a strong sense of responsibility, and enjoyment in cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to present complex issues appropriately for various audiences and provide technical support to junior team members.
- Strong analytical thinking skills, a structured approach to work, and high problem-solving capabilities.
