Main Duties

- Being an integral member of the Science Department.
- Engaging with the boarding community.
- Seeking opportunities for personal professional development to enhance one's teaching practice.
- Mentoring a small group of learners, overseeing their achievements and well-being.
- Managing departmental resources to maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment consistently.
- Demonstrating a strong commitment to the safeguarding of all young people.
- Completing subject-specific administrative tasks and actively participating in departmental meetings.
- Adhering to the school’s assessment and reporting protocols, along with attending parent meetings as necessary.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A good honours degree and/or a further degree in a subject directly related to the area of teaching.
- A strong commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion in education.
- A passion for the subject area that inspires and engages students.
- A willingness to embrace new developments and innovations in teaching and learning, including experimenting with new practices.
- A readiness to supervise learners engaged in the MYP Personal Project or the DP Extended Essay.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ideally as a native English speaker.
- A shared educational vision with La Garenne International School, appreciating the holistic aspects of education and eager to contribute to co-curricular and pastoral initiatives.
