About the Initiative
The Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET) is driving a multi-institution research initiative known as SwissChips, which focuses on innovative chip design, microelectronics, and semiconductors. This initiative is supported by the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), and involves collaboration among over 20 professors and 80 doctoral students and researchers from prestigious institutions including ETH Zürich, the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM).
Key Responsibilities
The selected individual will play a pivotal role in the SwissChips community, providing vital support in project coordination and communication. Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Director in the overall coordination and communication strategies
- Managing the SwissChips website with engaging news and updates
- Overseeing the LinkedIn channel and maintaining active communication with the community
- Coordinating content for annual technical reports and other communications materials
- Leading and supporting event and outreach activities
- Acting as the primary contact for inquiries from the press, industry, and public
- Supporting administrative tasks and facilitating outreach efforts
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will exhibit the following qualities:
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independent work
- Outstanding organizational skills for managing workshops, meetings, and various communications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English (German is a plus)
- A demonstrated ability to write clear and engaging scientific content as well as social media articles
- The agility to thrive in a multifaceted and dynamic environment
Experience within the Swiss research landscape, specifically in the ETH domain, is advantageous, although candidates with backgrounds in scientific writing, journalism, or online content management are also encouraged to apply.
