Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare traditional and premium Indian sweets and desserts.
  • Ensure food quality and safety, including monitoring temperatures and proper refrigeration of ingredients.
  • Utilize specialized cooking equipment, such as deep fryers.
  • Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and food service areas.
  • Follow recipes to guarantee consistency and quality of dishes.
  • Accurately measure and weigh ingredients.
  • Monitor the cooking process, making adjustments as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
  • Package finished products and label them appropriately.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure the visual appeal and quality of the storefront display.
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked food products.
  • Manage inventory and liaise with procurement and catering managers.
  • Receive and verify the quality and quantity of goods and supplies.
  • Ensure proper storage and preparation of raw materials.
  • Set up and manage buffet stations effectively.
  • Communicate with management regarding availability of dishes.
  • Uphold personal hygiene and safety standards.
  • Oversee cleanliness of kitchen, utensils, and equipment.
  • Assist in training and monitoring the performance of kitchen staff and trainees.
  • Implement health and safety legislation and guidelines.
  • Responsible for preparing kitchen cleaning schedules after service.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
  • Qualified with a diploma or degree in Hospitality preferred.
  • Commitment to work for at least two years in Switzerland.
  • Sound knowledge of South Indian specialty cuisine and Indian cooking techniques. Proficiency in German is preferable.
