Key Responsibilities

  • Advising clients on business rates assessments and associated liabilities.
  • Preparing and negotiating Check, Challenge, Appeal (CCA) submissions.
  • Reviewing rating lists to identify potential savings opportunities.
  • Managing client portfolios while delivering strategic rating advice.
  • Conducting property inspections and data collection as required.
  • Liaising with the Valuation Office Agency and other key stakeholders.
  • Supporting business development initiatives and creating client presentations.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports, proposals, and technical advice.
  • Monitoring legislative and market trends that impact business rates.
  • Contributing to team knowledge sharing and professional development activities.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:

  • Degree qualified in Real Estate, Property, Surveying, or a related field.
  • MRICS qualified or progressing towards professional accreditation.
  • Experience in business rates, property tax, valuation, or related surveying disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Commercially aware with a client-centric approach.
  • Possession of a full UK driving license.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Up to 3 years of post-qualification experience within a rating consultancy environment.
  • Familiarity with UK rating legislation and the appeals process.
  • Experience in managing client relationships and fee-earning responsibilities.
  • Confidence in networking and driving business development activities.
