Study Director Community Lead

Role Overview

In this pivotal position, you will oversee the execution and delivery of a portfolio of supported clinical studies, managing diverse complexities and priorities in alignment with the Clinical Development Plan (CDP) and Operational Execution Plan (OEP). Your portfolio will comprise a set of clinical trials of similar types, defining a community of study leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead a community of Study Leaders, including management responsibilities within the organization.
• Promote operational excellence and knowledge sharing across clinical studies.
• Create an empowered, psychologically safe atmosphere capable of adapting quickly to changing business needs.
• Manage the allocation of resources within the assigned community.
• Independently lead the Clinical Trial Team (CTT) in collaboration with the Clinical Operations Program Head (COPH) for the successful delivery of complex global studies.
• Act as co-owner of the CTT product, ensuring operational strategy is followed effectively.
• Guide study-level planning and decision-making, ensuring alignment with the Operational Execution Plan (OEP) and study protocol.
• Encourage an agile culture within assigned studies to maximize collaboration and achieve long-term business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or a clinically relevant field is required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• At least 8 years of recent experience in clinical research or drug development across Phases I through IV, with significant complexity.
• 5 years of experience in conducting clinical studies in a global or matrix environment, including expertise in international standards and health authority regulations.
• 5 years of people management experience in complex environments, preferably with a global focus.
• Proven track record in leading virtual teams and building capabilities.
• Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
