Position Overview
The (Sr.) Director of Value, Access and Policy plays a pivotal role within Acadia’s Global Value & Access Team and the European Value, Access and Policy team. This role is accountable for establishing and maintaining effective pricing and market access strategies that deliver value to patients, healthcare systems, society, and the organization. Collaborating with the Head of the European team, the individual will define Acadia’s approach to Market Access in Europe and contribute to building a cross-functional execution framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Focus efforts on supporting mid-size and small European countries.
- Ensure high-quality launch strategies for Pricing and Access in designated focus countries.
- Develop comprehensive pricing and access strategies based on insights, addressing additional evidence needs and value propositions beyond the drug itself.
- Deliver high-quality and timely P&R dossiers.
- Collaborate with local and European teams to identify essential evidence requirements for successful market access and support the creation of program-specific Evidence Plans.
- Establish a coordinated negotiation strategy with a clearly defined approach.
- Develop stakeholder relationships to engage in access education, including consultations with patients regarding their local needs and disease impacts.
- Maintain personal relationships with key stakeholders such as payers, advisors, and opinion leaders.
- Oversee the preparation and management of annual strategic plans and budgets for the function, ensuring accurate forecasting and decision-making.
- Monitor European trends in Health Technology Assessment and reimbursement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or PhD in science and/or economics preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of increasing responsibility in Market Access within a pharmaceutical or biotech organization, with significant scientific exposure to rare diseases in the CNS realm and experience with early patient access programs.
- Relevant education combined with applicable experience will be considered.
Essential Skills
- Recent experience with early patient access programs and launching orphan drugs, preferably within the CNS field.
- Hands-on experience in pricing negotiations across multiple European markets.
- Proven success and experience in cross-functional teamwork.
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken); proficiency in additional European languages is advantageous.
- Ability to collaborate with commercial, medical, clinical, and regulatory teams to promote a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Strong digital literacy and proficiency in Microsoft tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with robust formal presentation abilities.
- Willingness to travel within Europe and internationally as required.
