Role Overview

The selected individual will be pivotal in executing Direct Procurement Operations activities. This includes supplier management responsibilities such as negotiating, contracting, and performance management, all aligned with the Category Management team. As a vital member of the Direct Procurement Operations team, the focus will be on delivering value-added activities that encompass business stakeholder engagement, master data management, supplier performance oversight, and driving cost savings initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that all procurement requests comply with category guidance, policies, standards, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate closely with Procurement and Business stakeholders to execute relevant procurement processes.
• Utilize appropriate methodologies and tools to achieve effective procurement outcomes.
• Engage with Category Management teams to meet end-user requirements while identifying opportunities for aggregation.
• Drive continuous improvement methodologies and optimize supplier performance for consistent value delivery.
• Work with legal and contracting teams to manage contracting activities, including agreement preparations and reviews.
• Translate end-user requirements into actionable procurement specifications.
• Communicate the status and outcomes of procurement activities effectively.
• Maintain relevant documentation and information flows back to Category Management teams.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

• A university degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of procurement experience.
• Strong communication skills with a knack for translating business requirements into procurement specifications.
• Experience in sourcing management, especially in technical fields such as electronics or mechanics.
• Proficiency in enterprise systems like SAP.
• Business-level fluency in English.
• A collaborative team player dedicated to driving cost reduction and value improvement initiatives.

Desirable Attributes

• Postgraduate qualifications in a business-related field.
• Experience in strategic sourcing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Knowledge in Life Sciences.
• Professional certifications in purchasing or finance.
• Competence or fluency in German is beneficial.
