Role Overview

Product Development Ownership

Ownership of innovative sorbent module development from TRL3 to TRL6, balancing trade-offs among product requirements, performance, manufacturability, and scalability.

Lifecycle Management

Leading the lifecycle management of new sorbent modules from TRL6 through product launch, service, and end-of-life, ensuring successful deployment and long-term performance.

Validation & Industrialization

Coordinating validation of new products through serial production delivery, overseeing all necessary engineering, manufacturing, testing, and validation activities for successful industrialization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Collaborating with internal technology, development, and operations teams, along with external partners and suppliers, to ensure smooth product development and delivery.

Prototype Fabrication & Testing

Supporting the fabrication and testing of prototypes, performing experiments to validate design concepts, troubleshoot issues, and enhance product performance.

Continuous Improvement

Driving continuous enhancement of sorbent modules by identifying opportunities for performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness improvements throughout the product lifecycle.

Desired Qualifications

  • Educational Background & Experience: A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in product development or mechanical design.
  • Design & Engineering Expertise: Hands-on experience in material selection and principles of Design for Manufacturing, Assembly, Maintainability, and the Environment, alongside a basic understanding of chemical processes.
  • Project Leadership: Proven ability to manage development projects from concept to implementation, ensuring team collaboration and delivery.
  • Innovation & Problem Solving: Strong creative problem-solving skills with a commitment to sustainable technologies and early-stage R&D.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Effective communicator who thrives in multidisciplinary environments and enjoys mentoring junior engineers.
  • Language Skills & Availability: Fluency in English; available for 80–100% work with limited travel (up to 10%).

This role is based in Opfikon, Zurich, with a requirement to work onsite at least three days per week.
