Role Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ), ensuring compliance with safety regulations during scaffold and lifting activities.
  • Conduct risk assessments, enforce compliance, and have the authority to stop work when safety is compromised.
  • Plan, organize, and execute lifting operations with qualified personnel, overseeing crane selection, equipment suitability, and safe slinging/signaling arrangements.
  • Maintain and inspect lifting gear to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Plan and supervise scaffold erection, ensuring adherence to weight limitations, fall protection, and safety tie-offs.
  • Conduct final inspections prior to use, verify structural integrity, and oversee any modifications or repairs.
  • Act as the primary contact for scaffold and lifting coordination, chairing regular meetings with contractors to minimize disruptions and ensure efficient work execution.
  • Perform regular audits on scaffolding and lifting equipment, ensuring all gears are properly marked with safety information and undergo periodic examinations.
  • Prevent unauthorized use of lifting equipment and ensure all involved personnel are trained and competent.
  • Provide guidance on best practices, supervise operations, and deliver lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records of inspections, risk assessments, and safety measures while ensuring compliance with legal and project requirements.
  • Implement measures to prevent unauthorized movement of cranes and scaffolding, securing risk areas, controlling access, and enforcing safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • CISRS Advanced scaffolding inspection certification.
  • 1 Day temporary works accredited training course.
  • Experience in a comparable role on large construction projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal and management system requirements.
  • Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or equivalent certification.
  • Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC), Safepass (ROI), CSCS, or CCNSG card or equivalent.
  • Proficient command of English; additional languages are a plus.
