As we seek to expand our existing operations, we are looking to add a vital member to our team with expertise in proprietary trading of energy commodities, including power, gas, coal, and emission allowances. The goal is to achieve consistent profits while navigating the complexities of the market.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in proprietary trading of power and related products such as spark spreads, EUAs, natural gas, and coal in the wholesale energy market, with a primary focus on Central Western Europe (CWE).
• Concentrate on mid and long-term trading products, typically ranging from one month ahead to two years out.
• Build and nurture positive relationships with market participants.
• Develop and maintain market research tools and conduct comprehensive market analysis.
• Generate positive PnL and seize market opportunities based on thorough analysis of market conditions.
• Demonstrate profitable success in managing a power trading book.
• Ensure the ETRM system is operated at the required standard to maintain accurate and secure records.
• Collaborate closely with other departments within the company and the EPH Group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of international work experience in commodity trading, with a deep understanding of the commodity industry and market dynamics.
• A minimum of 8 years of comprehensive experience in power and gas trading, specifically within the European commodity markets (notably Switzerland, Germany, and the UK).
• At least 8 years of experience in optimizing gas and power portfolios, alongside a robust understanding of power trading dynamics.
• Proven track record in business process and data management.
• Established network with market participants and industry players in the CWE region.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Strong analytical skills and structured thinking.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Creative and independent when approaching problem-solving.
• Demonstrated ability to generate trading profits in energy markets.
