Your Role and Responsibilities
- Sorbent Module Development: Lead the development and maturation of innovative sorbent modules from concept to early-stage product readiness, paving the way for the next generation of CO₂ collector products.
- Testing & Characterization: Initiate and oversee both in-house and external testing to characterize sorbent modules, ensuring smooth transitions to manufacturing by defining comprehensive product requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work alongside internal experts in testing, design, and development to create high-performance solutions, while innovating new testing methods.
- Stakeholder & Project Management: Facilitate efficient collaboration across functions and partners, managing technical and non-technical risks and prioritizing clear objectives.
- External Partnerships & Technical Leadership: Serve as a key technical resource in partnerships, ensuring compliance with DAC-specific requirements for sorbent modules.
- Contract & Scope Management: Collaborate with legal teams to align contracts with the technical scope of work.
- IP & Scientific Contribution: Contribute to the development of new intellectual property through the evaluation of relevant literature and patents.
Your Profile
- Educational Background: An advanced degree in engineering or materials science; a PhD is an advantage.
- R&D and Industry Experience: Over 5 years in research and development, including a minimum of 2 years in industrial settings.
- Materials & Application Expertise: Proficient in immobilizing sorbents or catalysts and understanding their impact on system performance.
- Experimental Methods & Characterization: Experience in target-driven R&D methods and material characterization techniques.
- Working Style & Ownership: Results-oriented with a hands-on approach throughout the entire development cycle.
- Communication & Project Leadership: Strong collaboration skills and the ability to lead projects effectively.
- Language & Travel Flexibility: Fluent in English with a willingness to travel occasionally; additional language skills are a plus.

This is an on-site position based in Opfikon, Zurich, with a requirement to work at least three days per week. We offer flexibility with full-time or part-time arrangements tailored to your needs.
