Overview
This position serves as a critical liaison within the footwear development process, focusing on the bottom unit. The successful candidate will engage collaboratively with designers, developers, and an outsourcing hub in Asia, ensuring a seamless transition from concept development to prototyping and production. Additionally, you will partner closely with our Innovation and Sport engineering teams to validate and launch high-performance products and technologies.
Your Mission
- Provide technical design constraints, material choices, and construction input based on your extensive knowledge of materials, mold construction, and manufacturing methods.
- Lead bottom unit initiatives across multiple verticals and projects, including both Inline and Innovation.
- Analyze and enhance product designs for manufacturability and durability, delivering solutions that meet quality and performance targets, using your 2D-3D modeling expertise.
- Offer recommendations based on a solid understanding of cost implications from various molding methods and tooling designs.
- Assist development, product management, and design teams with tooling-related inquiries while collaborating with Asian partners and moldshop teams.
Your Background
- Possess a higher education degree in Engineering or Design fields.
- Bring 5+ years of experience in an engineering role, closely collaborating with development and production, preferably within the footwear industry.
- Have experience working with 2D and 3D CAD files, ideally in Rhinoceros; experience in Simulation (FEA) is a valuable bonus.
- Exhibit excellent time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge in materials, manufacturing processes, and plastic molding specific to the footwear industry.
- Show proven expertise in project management, costing, quality control, and the ability to provide solutions within complex constraints.
- Fluency in English is required.
