Your Role

In the vibrant setting of our Biomedical Research team in Basel, Switzerland, you will contribute to the RNAi Initiative as a key member of our RNA synthesis team. This role emphasizes collaboration within a multidisciplinary environment, bridging research and development to pioneer novel siRNA therapies aimed at addressing critical medical needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute small scale oligonucleotide syntheses using automated synthetic technologies.
  • Conduct experiments within a state-of-the-art laboratory, delivering novel siRNAs to propel therapeutic projects forward.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate experimental data, formulate scientific hypotheses, and prioritize oligonucleotide chemistries for project objectives.
  • Support and mentor team members by sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative work culture.
  • Present and communicate scientific findings at internal meetings and research forums.
  • Uphold high laboratory safety standards and infrastructure maintenance.

Your Background

  • A Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience in a Pharma Lab, focused on synthetic organic chemistry. PhD candidates nearing defense may be considered.
  • Hands-on knowledge of small scale oligonucleotide synthesis is essential.
  • Familiarity with conjugation techniques involving linkers, modifiers, and payloads is advantageous.
  • A strong enthusiasm for automated oligonucleotide chemistry experimentation.
  • Critical thinking skills to interpret results, develop new experimental hypotheses, and make informed decisions.
  • An interest in innovative technologies and trends in drug discovery and development.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a passionate approach to personal growth and the development of others.
  • An organized, detail-oriented work style complemented by flexibility and a commitment to quality.
