Senior SAP Project Leadership Opportunity

Join a team seeking an experienced professional to lead the end-to-end delivery and execution of complex SAP projects. This role requires a minimum of five years of experience managing large-scale SAP implementations, with a strong preference for SAP S/4HANA project experience. The position is based in Barcelona, Spain, with a remote working model and occasional travel to the Barcelona hub. The engagement is structured as a six-month B2B freelance contract with the possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible.

This is a hands-on project leadership role requiring excellent execution, stakeholder management, and communication skills. The successful candidate will take ownership of project delivery, proactively manage risks and dependencies, lead project teams, and ensure all project documentation and governance requirements are maintained to a high standard. Experience must include full end-to-end SAP project implementation and delivery, rather than solely managing minor enhancements, BAU activities, or change requests.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the end-to-end execution of complex SAP projects, from planning and initiation through to implementation, go-live, and delivery.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, timelines, and delivery documentation.
• Take ownership of project execution, ensuring activities are delivered on time and within agreed scope.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, ensuring clear accountability and alignment across stakeholders.
• Provide regular project updates, status reports, and progress documentation to senior stakeholders.
• Manage project governance, ensuring appropriate reporting, documentation, and controls are in place.
• Drive project progress, proactively addressing challenges and removing delivery blockers.
• Maintain strong communication across technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior management.

Essential Requirements

• Minimum five years of experience as a Senior Project Manager delivering end-to-end SAP projects.
• Strong SAP background, ideally with SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
• Proven track record managing full SAP project lifecycles, rather than smaller enhancements or change requests.
• Excellent project execution and delivery management capabilities.
• Fluent English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills and experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive approach to project management, particularly risk and issue management.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to produce high-quality project documentation, reporting, and governance materials.
• Confident managing stakeholders at different levels of an organisation.
