Project Overview

We are seeking a Senior Research Engineer in the realm of Industrial AI and LLM Systems. This position is centered around the development and implementation of AI frameworks that integrate large language models within real-world manufacturing settings. You will have the opportunity to work with esteemed Swiss industrial partners, focusing on creating resilient prototypes suitable for production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI-based decision-support systems tailored for manufacturing applications.
• Develop architectures based on large language models (LLMs), including Retrieval-Augmented Generation and modular AI pipelines.
• Integrate diverse industrial data sources, such as sensor data, laboratory measurements, engineering documentation, and expert knowledge.
• Craft scalable system architectures aimed at AI deployment in industrial settings.
• Translate research concepts into practical AI solutions for production purposes.
• Build and assess prototypes in collaboration with industrial stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Required Experience

• CH/EU/EFTA citizenship or valid Swiss work permit.
• PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.
• Proficient programming skills in Python.
• Experience with machine learning systems or LLM-based architectures.
• Background in managing complex data systems or developing applied AI prototypes.
• Familiarity with modern AI tools (e.g., LangChain, vector databases, RAG architectures) is advantageous.

• Self-motivated, structured, and curious about cutting-edge AI technologies.
• Strong analytical mindset accompanied by hands-on problem-solving capabilities.
• Able to thrive in interdisciplinary, industry-focused teams.
• Fluency in German and English is essential.
