Key Responsibilities
- Calculate and report accurate market risks and profitability for assigned portfolios.
- Ensure timely entry of all transactions into Right Angle (RA) while demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of RA scheduling, profit/loss reporting, and transaction rebooking.
- Collaborate with contract administration, accounting, inventory control, and third parties to resolve pricing or volume discrepancies.
- Act as a subject matter expert for both RA and exposure/P&L reporting within the middle office desk.
- Provide backup support for responsibilities of other Risk Team members as necessary.
- Assist with the year-end audit concerning transaction documentation and forward mark to market validation.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of energy price risk management methods, trading instruments, and the structure and fundamentals of the North American energy markets.
- Proficiency in Excel and VBA, along with a strong command of other MS Office products.
Experience:
- Direct experience with traders and exposure to a front office trading environment.
- Experience in risk management, ideally within an energy trading company or investment bank.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and experience in handling large data sets to solve various challenges.

- Hard Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to apply energy and risk management knowledge in a dynamic trading environment.
- Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, teamwork, exceptional customer service, attention to detail, self-motivation, effective time management, and innovative problem-solving abilities.
Typical Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting, with some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
- Normal range of hearing and vision required.
- Some travel may be necessary.
