Your Mission
- Lead and coordinate technical activities within your dedicated field, conducting and managing high-complexity tasks independently.
- Act as the local technical authority for metallic materials and surface treatments, supporting product development and being the first level of escalation.
- Proactively communicate and align cross-functionally with adjacent engineering fields and departments outside engineering, such as operations, quality, and procurement.
- Support continuous improvement processes and proposal initiatives to enhance products, technologies, and production processes to meet customer expectations for quality, cost, and demand.
- Write and review technical documentation, project-related deliverables, and specifications tailored to product- and mission-specific requirements.
- Utilize project management techniques and tools to meet cost, technical, and scheduling requirements.
- Take ownership of technical, budget, and schedule responsibilities for assigned tasks as a Work Package / Task Manager.
- Participate in Non-Conformance Review Boards and contribute to technical solutions and risk management in your field.
- Be technically responsible for recruitment processes, ensuring key skills are maintained and standardized within your field of activity.
- Coach junior engineers and external employees and review their work.
- Provide insights on new products, processes, and technologies to engineering directorates.
Your Story
- Master’s degree or PhD in Material Science, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of technical experience in the field.
- Profound knowledge in metallic materials and processes, surface treatments, and adhesive bonding, including associated special processes.
- Expertise in qualification, certification, and validation of materials and processes.
- Additional knowledge in composites, particularly carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) and non-metallic materials.
- Strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in space or aerospace industries.
- Knowledge of the space industry and market.
- Acumen in project management.
- Proficiency in German (minimum B2).
