We are seeking a highly skilled professional to become part of our dedicated Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) team, located in either Munich, Germany, or Wallisellen, Switzerland. This team is committed to delivering personalized solutions that assist clients in managing, controlling, and reducing risk through innovative insurance products.
Your Impact
In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Head of Legal ART, offering expert legal guidance tailored to specific transactions. Your responsibilities will include providing legal sign-off on crucial regulatory matters, assessing structural legality, and managing distribution alongside intermediary relations on a global scale. You will ensure compliance and execution of ART guidelines while actively contributing to enhancing governance and establishing best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Support: Guide global ART business units in the negotiation and execution of (re-)insurance transactions, focusing on European and international markets.
- Documentation Alignment: Collaborate with the Deal Modeler to ensure transaction documentation is consistent with modeled structures.
- Distribution Leadership: Lead global distribution efforts, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and approving distribution agreements.
- Governance & Best Practices: Enhance underwriting governance, conduct legal reviews, and provide training to management and teams.
- Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing: Engage with various legal and compliance teams within the Allianz Group to facilitate effective knowledge transfer.
- Coaching & Leadership: Participate in underwriting committees, mentor the underwriting community, and exemplify sound corporate behavior.
Your Qualifications
- Advanced expertise in alternative risk transfer transactions, particularly within cross-border regulatory frameworks.
- Legal qualifications in Germany, Switzerland, or Austria.
- Deep understanding of corporate, regulatory, and compliance landscapes affecting ART.
- Over 15 years of experience in financial services, either as in-house counsel or in a law firm setting.
- Proven collaborative skills and the ability to thrive in cross-cultural environments.
- Strong analytical and communication abilities to navigate complex multi-jurisdictional issues.
- Sound professional judgment, independent decision-making skills, and a solid grasp of financial structures.
- Commitment to maintaining ethical AI practices and staying updated on emerging technologies.
