Research Opportunity in Nonmalignant Hematology Research

Join a dynamic team at Roche Switzerland, where we connect pharmaceuticals and diagnostics at the forefront of research and development. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to contribute to the preclinical evaluation of innovative therapies aimed at treating nonmalignant hematologic disorders, including bleeding and thrombotic diseases, as well as anemia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a range of in vivo and in vitro experiments related to coagulation.
  • Conduct hands-on rodent work, including intravenous injections and blood collection.
  • Characterize the efficacy and safety of new pharmaceutical assets utilizing molecular and biochemical assays such as ELISA and thrombin generation assays.
  • Prepare and handle patient-derived materials for testing in both in vitro and ex vivo environments.
  • Perform comprehensive data analysis and present findings within the team.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and contribute to lab organization, safety, and inventory management.

Qualifications

  • MSc or BSc in Life Sciences (molecular biology, pharmacology, immunology, coagulation) with a minimum of 2-3 years of hands-on animal study experience, or completion of an apprenticeship as a Research Associate with at least 4-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Active LTK1 certification, FELASA certification, or equivalent, ideally with current continuing education requirements fulfilled.
  • Proven expertise in in vivo techniques including compound administration and organ sampling, alongside in vitro assay experience, such as DNA/RNA isolation and protein-based assays.
  • Strong capability in experimental design and data analysis, with a proven ability to independently manage studies from inception to completion.
  • Proficiency in English is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with thrombin generation and chromogenic substrate assays, as well as performing surgical procedures on rodents.
  • Understanding of coagulation, hemostasis, bleeding, and thrombosis biology.
  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
