Project Engineer (GMP Biotech Production) m/w/d

About the Role

Techfirm Industrie AG is in search of a motivated individual with experience in GMP environments, particularly within biotech or biopharmaceutical production plants. The ideal candidate will take ownership of projects from initiation through to completion, focusing on small to mid-sized capital projects, optimizing existing production facilities, and integrating new equipment for expansion activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead small capital projects (CHF 10,000 to 200,000), optimizing production environments through upgrades to valves, filters, equipment, and tubing.
• Manage mid-sized CAPEX projects (CHF 200,000 to 2 million), overseeing the installation and commissioning of homogenizers, separation machines, vessels, tanks, HVAC systems, and clean rooms.
• Coordinate all phases of projects, including URS preparation, cost estimation, planning and budgeting, approval processes, detailed engineering, and resource management.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless project execution.
• Assume full responsibility for projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to GMP and biotech production standards.
• Work in a bilingual environment, where documentation is provided in both German (older plant) and English (new plant).

Requirements

• 2-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in GMP-regulated biotech or pharmaceutical production facilities.
• Demonstrated experience in managing small to mid-sized capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of process equipment relevant to biopharma production, including valves, filters, homogenizers, separation machines, tanks, and HVAC systems.
• Proficiency in managing project initiation, planning, execution, and closeout within a cross-departmental context.
• Bilingual communication skills in English and German, with the ability to interpret technical documents in both languages.
• Proactive, organized, and detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving abilities.
