About Us
Biovision is dedicated to creating sustainable food systems that prioritize agroecological practices, equitable value chains, food security, and harmonious agricultural production. With a focus on research and projects in sub-Saharan Africa and Switzerland, we strive to develop future-oriented solutions, either through our initiatives or in collaboration with partner organizations.
Our Mission
Founded in 1998 by Hans Rudolf Herren, a Swiss entomologist and Right Livelihood Award laureate, Biovision aims to improve the lives of farming families while protecting the environment. We concentrate on agroecology, a holistic approach that combines sustainable farming methods, socially responsible business practices, and inclusive policy dialogue. Our efforts address pressing global challenges, including hunger, climate change, and biodiversity loss, all in pursuit of a resilient food system for the future.
