Strategic Development and Implementation

The successful candidate will be instrumental in defining and agreeing upon regional objectives and strategies tailored to align with established budgets and growth plans. Responsibilities include developing and implementing global product portfolios and principal business strategies, facilitating portfolio expansion across various regions, areas, and countries. Additionally, the role encompasses crafting a comprehensive global business plan, a five-year budget, and a rolling 12-month forecast in coordination with regional teams.

Divisional Management

This position involves leading and steering sales activities for distribution products in close collaboration with regional management. Key tasks include optimizing payment terms with principals, providing guidance during regional negotiations of purchase prices and terms, and monitoring business performance metrics such as volumes sold, margins, and return on capital expenditure (ROCE). The role also entails assessing and developing principal portfolios aligned with market opportunities, managing projects targeting new segment trends, and organizing regular product training sessions.

Communication

Successful engagement with key partners and principals is crucial. The candidate will be responsible for conducting regular performance reviews with principals and regional teams, executing long-term marketing plans, supporting price and contract negotiations, and developing joint exhibition programs. Open and effective communication is essential to ensure principal satisfaction and alignment with long-term strategies.

People Management

The role calls for driving talent development and promotion within the division and across regions. Collaborating with regional management and HR, the candidate will create learning and development programs for management and technical sales teams. There will be a focus on building an ideal organizational structure in the assigned region, encompassing recruitment, training, and succession planning, all aimed at supporting business growth objectives.

Requirements

  • A university degree in Business and/or Polymer Science disciplines.
  • A minimum of 10 years of global experience in sales, product, and business management within polymer distribution and relevant industry segments.
  • Ability to forge relationships with top-level management at principals.
  • Proven communication competencies with the ability to interact sensitively with diverse backgrounds.
  • Open, proactive, and strong communication skills.
  • A team player within a complex team and matrix structure.
  • Creative and critical thinking abilities.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • A thorough understanding of the relevant industry.
  • Excellent intercultural communication skills.
  • Fluency in both oral and written English is required.
  • Willingness to travel globally up to 50%.
