Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will engage with an innovative project focused on developing cutting-edge hybrid pixelated LGAD imaging sensors tailored for the deep water window. Your main tasks will include:
- Leading the simulation, optimization, and design of next-generation thin-entrance window and Low Gain Avalanche Diode (LGAD) pixel sensors.
- Focusing on adapting these technologies for the soft X-ray energy range of the deep water window.
- Actively participating in the characterization of the developed sensors and conducting data analysis to assess their capabilities.
- Collaborating with beamline scientists and participating in pilot experiments at synchrotrons to validate the performance of pixelated sensors utilizing advanced X-ray detectors developed at PSI.
- Engaging in a teamwork-oriented environment, gaining insight into all facets of detector development from component design to final experimental validation.
Your Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A PhD in physics, electronic engineering, or a related field focusing on solid state detectors.
- Experience with radiation detectors, with a strong foundation in silicon sensor design considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Technology Computer Aided Design (TCAD) simulations, preferably with Synopsys or Silvaco tools.
- High motivation, independence, and a commitment to contributing innovative ideas.
- A collaborative spirit, enjoyment of teamwork, and clear communication skills in English across diverse groups.
