Join a Dynamic Research Environment at the University of Zurich

The University of Zurich, the largest university in Switzerland, is dedicated to delivering exceptional education and cutting-edge research. With a workforce of around 10,000 employees and an array of professional apprenticeship streams, we provide an inspiring environment for individuals to leverage their talents and skills.

Your Responsibilities

  • Engage in research on peptide-red blood cells (pcRBC) as an antigen-specific therapy for Multiple Sclerosis (MS), currently in clinical testing.
  • Focus on characterizing tolerance mechanisms induced by pcRBC in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), serving as a model for MS.
  • Extend previously established research by defining the spatial organization of immunoregulatory microenvironments and elucidating the molecular mechanisms behind antigen-specific suppression of pathogenic T-cell responses.

Your Profile

  • A PhD in immunology, biology, neuroscience, or a related field with demonstrated expertise in autoimmune disease animal models, particularly EAE or similar in vivo inflammatory models.
  • Strong background in flow cytometry, including multi-parameter analysis and cell sorting, alongside experience in histological techniques and immunofluorescence microscopy.
  • Proficiency in molecular biology methods such as RNA isolation, qPCR, and transcriptomic data analysis is essential, with prior experience in primary cell cultures and ex vivo systems expected.
  • A publication record that reflects experimental rigor and the ability to write scientifically.
  • Fluency in English is mandatory.
