Portfolio Manager – Emerging Markets

Team Overview

The Emerging Markets team is dedicated to trading across various time zones in Emerging Market countries. Our focus encompasses macro asset classes, including FX, Rates, and Sovereign Credit, utilizing a blend of relative value and macro-directional strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Trade in macro products within the African markets while considering growth, inflation, and political outlook.
• Implement strategies that leverage both bottom-up and macro insights to maximize returns.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance trading strategies and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; a Master’s or PhD in Finance or Economics is advantageous.
• 7-10 years of experience in a sell-side or buy-side institution such as an investment bank, hedge fund, asset manager, or family office.
• Proven PnL track record in trading fixed income and foreign exchange products, currently holding a trading role at a leading financial institution.
• Strong understanding of African financial markets and macroeconomic fundamentals.
• Advanced proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
