Position Overview

This role involves building and coordinating a dynamic community at ETH Zurich, fostering collaboration with the EPFL counterpart, forming strategic partnerships, and managing communication channels to further the mission of bridging research insights with real-world educational contexts.

About CLUE

The Center for Research on Learning, Understanding and Education (CLUE) is an interdisciplinary initiative between ETH Zurich and EPFL. It aims to enhance research and practice in learning and education across various dimensions while addressing contemporary challenges and opportunities in education shaped by digitalization and evolving societal values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establishing and nurturing the CLUE community across affiliated labs at ETH Zurich and EPFL.
  • Developing communication formats and networking opportunities among research groups.
  • Gathering input and feedback from community members to foster collaboration.
  • Managing the ETH Zurich side of the Joint Doctoral Program on Learning Sciences (JDPLS) and integrating it into the CLUE ecosystem.
  • Expanding the participation circle to include pedagogical universities and educational administration.
  • Building strategic partnerships and external relations to bridge research with educational practice.
  • Identifying funding opportunities and developing strategic partnerships.
  • Overseeing communication, preparing the CLUE website, and organizing events.
  • Creating effective local organizational structures at ETH Zurich.

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in education, psychology, social sciences, or a related field relevant to learning and education.
  • Extensive experience in project or program management, preferably within a research or educational setting.
  • Proven community-building and networking skills to connect diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in identifying funding opportunities and forming strategic partnerships.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proactive and independent work ethic with strong organizational capabilities.
  • Genuine interest in educational innovation and mission-driven work.
  • Fluency in English and German; knowledge of French is advantageous.

Workplace Environment

Your role will initially be based within the Professorship for Social Brain Sciences, led by Prof. Dr. Emily S. Cross, at ETH Zurich. As CLUE's organizational structure evolves, you will become part of CLUE, working in collaboration with various academic departments across ETH Zurich.
