Laboratory Technician

Background

Our Instrumental Analytics department plays a vital role in the Reagent Research and Design sector. We specialize in the development, validation, and implementation of a diverse array of analytical methods utilizing technologies such as Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, digital PCR, and FTIR microscopy. In addition to routine activities, we engage in research projects aimed at exploring and evaluating innovative approaches. We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a hands-on, multi-technology environment, and desires to enhance their technical expertise across a variety of instruments. You will be part of a collaborative team that values reliability, curiosity, and practical problem-solving.

The Ideal Candidate

The perfect candidate has completed training as a Laboratory Technician or holds a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field, and brings 2-3 years of laboratory experience. A curious and open mind is essential, as is the enjoyment of thinking beyond conventional approaches. The ability to collaborate effectively within a team and communicate confidently in English is paramount. Experience with statistical data analysis and proficiency in the German language is advantageous.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Plan analysis with support from supervisory staff
• Prepare standards and samples
• Conduct experiments with various instruments
• Analyze data with guidance from supervisory staff
• Document experimental procedures and results
• Escalate issues when processes deviate from the plan
• Recommend subsequent steps based on generated data
• Drive efforts to enhance efficiency within assigned work packages
• Organize and manage personal time effectively within the scope of work packages
• Order and maintain stocks of materials

Must Haves

• Completed education as a Laboratory Technician (Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology) with at least a Bachelor's degree
• A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a laboratory environment, either in academic research or the industry (Pharma, MedTech)
• Initial experience with Liquid Chromatography (preferably PCR)
• Basic experience in statistical data analysis and evaluation
• Fluent in English
• Strong interest in practical lab work
• Able to think multi-directionally
• Team player

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of GxP regulations
• Proficiency in German
