Your Role
In this position, you will be instrumental in the development, improvement, and lifecycle support of gas turbine instrumentation. You will work alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, reliable, and high-performance instrumentation solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance existing gas turbine instrumentation.
- Analyze new engine requirements, project tenders, and customer contracts, consolidating instrumentation needs.
- Drive the development of new instrumentation from specification and integration design through to first assembly, implementation, commissioning, testing, monitoring, and validation.
- Oversee the complete measurement chain, ensuring proper alignment of instrumentation with related system interfaces.
- Advise mechanical designers in creating and updating instrumentation documentation and product structure integration.
- Provide product support, acting as the primary contact for instrumentation-related issues across various departments.
- Perform root-cause analysis and technical problem solving, including the analysis of instrumentation signals and machine operational data.
Your Profile
- University degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on aerospace, turbomachinery, mechatronics, process technology, or energy technology.
- Able to work within distributed, multidisciplinary, and multicultural teams, managing complex technical and organizational interfaces.
- Expertise in sensor-engine integration design and measurement-chain engineering for harsh environments.
- Familiarity with dynamic measurement chains for vibration and acoustics is preferred.
- Practical experience in power plants, gas turbine, or aero-engine applications is advantageous.
- Knowledge of 3D CAD tools; experience with Siemens NX® is a plus.
- Understanding of PLM systems; experience with Siemens Teamcenter® is beneficial.
- Experience in signal and data analysis.
- Strong skills in root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving methods.
- Willingness to travel globally up to 30%, visiting power plants, construction sites, our factory in Genoa (Italy), or suppliers on average once a month.
- Excellent command of English; proficiency in German is a plus; knowledge of Italian is an advantage.
