Your Role and Responsibilities

As part of our team in Baden, Switzerland, you will focus on gas turbine instrumentation development and lifecycle support. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential to deliver robust, reliable, and high-performance instrumentation solutions.

  • Develop and enhance gas turbine instrumentation systems.
  • Analyze new engine requirements, project tenders, and customer contracts to consolidate instrumentation needs.
  • Drive the full development process of new instrumentation, from specification and design through assembly, implementation, commissioning, testing, monitoring, and validation.
  • Oversee the entire measurement chain while ensuring proper alignment of instrumentation with related system interfaces.
  • Advise designers on updating instrumentation documentation and its integration within the product structure.
  • Provide product support, serving as the primary contact for instrumentation-related issues across various teams including field service, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis and solve technical problems, including analysis of instrumentation signals and machine operational data.

Your Qualifications

  • A university degree in mechanical engineering, ideally with a focus on aerospace, mechatronics, robotics, turbomachinery, process technology, or energy technology.
  • Strong expertise in sensor integration design and measurement-chain engineering, particularly in harsh environments.
  • Experience with dynamic measurement chains for rotor vibration and acoustics is preferred.
  • Desirable practical experience in power plant, gas turbine, or aero-engine applications.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD tools; experience with Siemens NX® is an advantage.
  • Ability to work within distributed, multidisciplinary teams with complex interfaces.
  • Experience in measurement signal and data analysis; familiarity with LabVIEW® and MATLAB® is beneficial.
  • Strong skills in root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • A willingness to travel to power plants, construction sites, or the factory in Genoa (Italy), approximately once per month, occasionally for up to two weeks.
  • Fluency in English is essential; German is advantageous, and knowledge of Italian is a plus.
