Role Overview

This position is nestled within the Comparative Medicines group, presenting an opportunity for a specialized professional role that emphasizes collaboration across diverse research programs. The focus is to deliver high-quality and consistent in-vivo scientific and technical support.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct high-standard animal experimentation in accordance with ethical and technical protocols, specifically with mice and rats. This includes handling, substance application, clinical signs monitoring and scoring, blood and organ sampling, and the introduction of novel technologies.
• Assess data independently with minimal supervision.
• Professional experience in pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic, and tolerability studies is beneficial.
• Willingness to perform weekend duties and adjust hours for early morning or late evening responsibilities, such as dosing and bleeding.
• Engage closely and independently with fellow scientists.
• Maintain and update experimental protocols as needed.
• Pursue continuous learning and professional development, enhancing technical skills in in-vivo methods.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, supplemented with education as an in-vivo laboratory technician (LTK 1 or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with rodents in both academic and industrial environments.
• Proficient mathematical skills for compound dose and volume calculations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a focus on precise data documentation.
• Demonstrated commitment to animal welfare, being detail-oriented and a team player.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of French and/or German is advantageous.
