HW Integration Engineer (m/f/d)

We are seeking a qualified professional to enhance our HW Integration team located in Rotkreuz. This role is pivotal in ensuring that complex interactions between electronics, mechanics, firmware, and software culminate in a seamless and reliable diagnostic product.

About the Role

In this dynamic position, you will operate at the intersection of hardware and software, focusing on mechatronic troubleshooting. You will engage in checking and parameterizing physical hardware while collaborating directly with firmware and various R&D teams, including those in production and customer support. Your contributions will help uncover weaknesses early in the process and foster the development of diagnostic solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

• System Integration & Integrity: Act as a guardian of system quality, leading the integration of hardware and software modules.
• Hardware Parametrization & Firmware Interaction: Define critical parameters to optimize performance, ensuring reliable operation throughout the product's lifespan.
• Robustness & Endurance Testing: Design and conduct advanced electromechanical test setups and long-term trials to evaluate system limits.
• Data Analysis: Continuously supervise parameters and analyze data logs to derive actionable insights for improvements.
• Troubleshooting & Root-Cause Analysis: Collaborate across teams to diagnose and address mechatronic challenges effectively.
• Team Collaboration: Serve as a technical partner, ensuring the smooth handover of validated designs to manufacturing and service partners.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of practical experience in hardware/software integration or mechatronic troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with regulated industries like MedTech, Diagnostics, or GxP is highly beneficial.
• Technical proficiency in mechatronics and experience in scripting or programming for automation.
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• A curious investigator mindset dedicated to understanding complex systems, with a strong interest in emerging technologies.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is advantageous for local collaboration.
