General Overview

The individual in this pivotal role will provide substantial academic leadership, fostering an environment of collaboration and excellence. Responsibilities include managing, training, and developing academic programs while ensuring the highest standards of quality and student success in teaching, service, and scholarship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, communicate, and advise discipline faculty, including both full-time and part-time instructors.
  • Serve the student body enrolled in various courses and degree programs, focusing on course and program outcomes.
  • Maintain the utmost relevance and quality of course content across various majors and minors.
  • Demonstrate mission-driven leadership that empowers colleagues to implement programmatic strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Actively commit to initiatives related to student recruitment, registration, and retention.
  • Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team alongside other program heads to enhance overall academic offerings.

Discipline-Specific Duties

The responsibilities specific to this role encompass academic quality assurance, including accreditation processes related to teaching, research, and community service. Key duties until 2030 include:

  • Reimagining the curriculum for the Bachelor of Arts in Management.
  • Integrating the International Business curriculum.
  • Developing the curriculum and assessment model for a Global Master in Business Administration with various emphases.
  • Creating curricular synergies through collaboration on existing and new programs.
  • Fostering a research culture based on both institutional and programmatic research objectives.
  • Supporting research initiatives and seeking external grant funding.

Objectives

  • Develop and assess designated curriculums and associated programs and courses.
  • Collaborate with national and international partners on curricular and research projects.
  • Support program reviews and provide analytical recommendations to the Academic Director.
  • Conduct faculty performance evaluations annually in accordance with the institution’s review cycle.
  • Organize and chair programmatic faculty meetings with a focus on quality assurance, maintaining accurate records of discussions.
  • Contribute to faculty orientation sessions, new student orientations, advising days, and welcome weeks.
  • Play an active role in enrollment and retention initiatives and related events.
  • Contribute to fostering a vibrant research culture both on campus and in the broader community.
