Head of Junior Boys’ Boarding House

Position Overview

This role presents an exciting opportunity for candidates who thrive in a dynamic environment, engaging with bright and inquisitive international students aged 12 to 15 (grades 7 to 9). The successful candidate will join a dedicated pastoral team, focusing on fostering a supportive and nurturing atmosphere within the boarding house.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume overall responsibility for the house and provide pastoral guidance and support to boarders.
• Foster a safe, well-ordered, warm, and friendly environment prioritizing pupil welfare.
• Maintain professional communication with parents and all stakeholders within the school community.
• Lead a team of houseparents, coordinating schedules and ensuring a high quality of care.
• Maintain comprehensive student records with a strong commitment to confidentiality, privacy, and sensitivity.
• Organize and actively participate in boarding activities during evenings and weekends.
• Uphold safeguarding practices at all times.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in a residential setting.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience.
• High levels of social competence, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
• EU/EFTA citizenship is an advantage.
• Proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level; additional language skills are a plus.

The ideal individual will have demonstrated leadership in a boarding house and a proven track record of outstanding pastoral care. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential to manage the daily operations of the boarding house effectively and support the academic and extracurricular programs for students.
